Why do bath/shower controls all seem to have only one handle these days

With only one control, you can select the water temperature, but not the

volume of flow. Are you supposed to control the flow volume at the shower

The one handle controls have an anti-scald mixing valve, I

believe they are code now. Helps prevent burn injuries esp. children

It seems to be for cost efficientcy there is less material

used. Yes, there are the shower heads that you can control at the neck

This is being done to protect us. Many of these single handle

The idea being that ur child might crank it on full hot, but will never
get the 150 F water delivered straight from ur tank - if you had it that
high. It would be premixed with cold & only ever come out at say 125 F.

The downside of some of these features is that it is cheaper to make them
if the volume doesn't change.

I am sure someone is working on a way to take away our kitchen knives
next! lol

Well i think the one control is better than 2 because with two
Big Head
controls you have to keep switching from hot to cold to get the water just

some shower/baths have one handle that can do everything. If
Cuddle Bug
you move it up it comes out faster and move it left and right changes the

temperature. It is weird but it is like that and that is the way it is
